This hardship has lasted so long — when will it end?
Your Situation
It's not one bad day. This has been going on for a long time, and there's no clear end in sight.
What to know
The Quran doesn't only describe hardship as sudden and brief — it describes believers who were shaken by prolonged hardship until even they asked when relief would come, and it treats that question as human, not faithless.
What you can do
Know that you're not the first to ask this — earlier believers 'were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger and those who believed with him said, “When is the help of Allah?”' (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:214) — and the answer given was that help was near, not that the question was wrong to ask.
Hold onto the structure of this promise: 'with hardship comes ease' (Surah Ash-Sharh 94:5-6) — stated twice, and paired with hardship rather than positioned as something that only arrives after it fully ends.
Keep doing the next small, doable thing. Prolonged hardship makes big plans feel impossible — it doesn't make small, consistent ones impossible.
