Your Situation
There's so much to learn — prayer, Arabic, fiqh, the Quran — and it feels like you need to know it all right now.
What to know
Religion in Islam is explicitly described as easy, not effortless — and even the Quran itself wasn't revealed all at once.
What you can do
- Hold onto this directly: 'The religion is ease... so take a middle course, if you can't be perfect, then come close' (Sahih al-Bukhari 39).
- Notice the precedent: the Quran itself was revealed gradually over roughly 23 years, not all at once — learning your deen gradually follows the same pattern the revelation itself did.
- Pick one thing at a time. Learning to pray one prayer well, or memorizing one short surah, is real progress — it doesn't need to compete with everything else you haven't learned yet.
