Your Situation
You've been feeling off — exhausted, anxious, like something is wrong — and the thought has crossed your mind that someone may have done something to you. The fear itself is making things worse.
What to know
This fear doesn't say anything bad about your faith — it happened to the Prophet ﷺ himself, and Allah cured him completely. Knowing that it's real, treatable, and nothing to panic over is the first step.
What you can do
- Remember: the Prophet ﷺ was affected by sihr for a period, and Allah revealed exactly what had been done and cured him fully (Sahih al-Bukhari 5763, 5765). If it could happen to him, its mere possibility says nothing about your own standing with Allah.
- Recite Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas regularly — these two surahs were revealed specifically for protection from exactly this kind of harm.
- Don't let the fear itself become the problem. Much of what feels like "something is wrong" is ordinary stress, poor sleep, or anxiety — it's worth getting basic health and sleep looked at too, not jumping straight to the worst explanation.
- If the feeling persists and is seriously disrupting you, seek out a trustworthy, knowledgeable person for ruqyah rather than guessing at home — and be wary of anyone charging large sums or making dramatic claims, a common scam that preys on exactly this fear.
- The Prophet ﷺ didn't publicize what happened to him or treat it as shameful — his response was composed and private, and grateful once cured. That's a model worth following rather than spiraling.
This is about managing fear and knowing the basics — not a diagnosis tool. Real physical or mental health symptoms deserve real medical attention alongside any spiritual response; one doesn't rule out the other.
